Ben Parker has claimed that the hard work Leeds United attacker Rodrigo is putting in on the training ground is beginning to pay off.
The Yorkshire giants signed the Spanish forward for a club-record £26million transfer fee (BBC) in the summer window from Valencia and he’s arrived at Elland Road with big expectation on his shoulders.
With Patrick Bamford starting the season on fire, Rodrigo has been eased into the fold and on top of that the training methods of Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa are renowned for being extremely physically demanding.
Rodrigo has mainly been used in an attacking role just in a pocket behind Bamford so far and he really announced his arrival before the international break, as he scored his first goal for his new club.
The Spain international netted an equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City at Elland Road and gave an incredibly bright cameo performance off the bench.
Parker singled Rodrigo following his latest display and is convinced there is more to come from him as he adjusts to his new system.
“I’m absolutely delighted he’s got on the scoresheet [against Man City], I’m even more pleased for his all-round performance because he deserved that,” Parker told LUTV.
“You can just see how hard he’s been working at the training ground under Marcelo Bieksa and there is still more to things to come from Rodrigo. Top player and top performance from him on Saturday.”

TBR’s View:
Despite the fact he’s had a slow start to his Leeds career, it doesn’t look like he’ll be on the sidelines for too much longer and supporters are starting to see his quality on the ball when he’s on the pitch.
The left-footer is exactly the type of individual that can help link play together in the final third with his intelligence and it’s just a case of getting up to speed with an all-action Leeds system.
He’s currently away on the international duty with his country, but surely he’s got to be pushing for a starting position when the Whites are back in Premier League action against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
