Ben Parker told LUTV that Ian Poveda produced one of the passes of the season as Leeds United’s under-23 stormed to an emphatic win at West Brom on Monday.

For the second time this season, the Whites have won 5-0 away at the Baggies. This time however, it was Mark Jackson’s men who got the three points.

Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood will take many of the headlines. Gelhardt scored a hat-trick and was outrageously good once again. Greenwood meanwhile, scored an incredible free-kick during the second-half.

But several others produced moments of incredible quality. And Poveda’s turn came when he set up Crysencio Summerville for Leeds’s fourth with 20 minutes left.

The winger danced in from the right flank before producing a delicious pass through the West Brom defence to Summerville.

And while Parker did praise the Dutchman, he seemingly could not hide the fact that he was much more impressed by the assist.

“Wow, what a pass that is,” he told LUTV. “Initially, I just thought he was offside. But the vision, the technique, the skill just to play that inch perfect pass. But then, the run as well of Summerville, timed it to perfection.

“It’s all about the pass from Poveda. One of the passes of the season,” he went on to add.

With Marcelo Bielsa starting to get more and more of his injured players back, it is imperative that those on the periphery of the squad make the most of any opportunities that come their way.

Leeds have a lot of depth out wide right now. And Jack Harrison has looked a lot more like his old self against Fulham on Friday.

So Poveda needed to show everyone once again what he can do. And while he was quiet at times on Monday, he certainly made sure that he made his mark on the game.
