Ben Parker picked out Leeds United defenders Stuart Dallas and Liam Cooper for their impressive displays in midweek.
The Whites recorded a 1-0 win away to Middlesbrough on Wednesday night in their last match and it means they have now won three games on the spin all by the same scoreline.
Mateusz Klich scored the winner just on the stroke of half-time to help earn maximum points and another clean sheet proved they have tightened up again at the back.
Marcelo Bielsa’s team stay second in the league table with a five-point cushion over third-placed Fulham and they have 11 fixtures remaining to try get over the line for automatic promotion.
Former Leeds defender Parker gave a special mention to Dallas and Ayling for their performances at the back against Boro.
“There is just a special kind of mindset with the players, they are so relentless in the work they are doing. They are fighting for each other and that’s how they are getting the clean sheets,” Parker told LUTV.
“In particular, Stuart Dallas and Liam Cooper them two tonight [against Boro] I thought they were absolutely superb. Epitomised what we are about at the moment.”
Leeds captain Cooper was once again an authoritative figure at the back for his side and has been a serious driving force behind recent results by setting the tone in defence.
The 28-year-old centre-back dealt well with Boro’s forwards at the Riverside Stadium and ensured the visitors withheld a late rally from the hosts.
Dallas, 28, continued in his role at left-back and Bielsa appears to have finally stuck on using him in that full-back role.
He’s been deployed in a variety of positions this season due to his versatility, but is such a dependable figure at left-back as he impressed both offensively and defensively against Boro.
