Ben Parker has been discussing Huddersfield Town attacker Karlan Grant ahead of Leeds United’s clash against their Yorkshire rivals.
Leeds welcome Huddersfield to Elland Road on Saturday in the Championship, as a team vying for automatic promotion hosts one that could be being dragged back into a relegation scrap.
The Whites go into the contest off the back of a four-game winning run and they have kept a clean sheet in each of those games too, with their backline formidable for large parts of the campaign.
But Marcelo Bielsa’s team are preparing to face a Huddersfield outfit with several dangerous attacking options.
Grant is the talisman for the weekend’s visitors with 16 league goals to his name already this season and the 22-year-old looks like someone capable of playing at a higher level.
The English forward can play through he centre at times, but has often found great success operating as a left-winger recently and cutting inside.
Parker is a big fan of Grant, who he has compared to current Leeds playmaker Pablo Hernandez for the way they both move from wide to central areas.
“Karlan Grant is a key player, the amount of goals he’s got for a team that struggles suggests the quality,” Parker told LUTV.
“You’ve got to be careful with him. Plays predominately out to that wide left position, but is one of those players who drifts in. Similar to which, we play Pablo on the right you don’t find him as an out and out winger he drifts in. He knows where the back of the net is so he’s one to keep an eye on.”

TBR’s View:
Hernandez is much more of a creator and an intelligent number 10 with his movement, whereas Grant possesses the pace and power to be direct on goal.
It’s going to be imperative for Leeds to try keep him quiet though at the weekend and his battle with right-back Ayling could make for a fascinating one.
Leeds are expected to wrap up another three points at the weekend, but are facing a Huddersfield team fresh off the back of two consecutive victories and they do have serious firepower in Grant.
