Ben Parker has told LUTV that Leeds United star Gjanni Alioski told him “off the camera” that he was “shattered” following Leeds’ 1-0 win over promotion challengers West Brom on Tuesday night.
It was Alioski that opened the scoring. Good work from Jack Harrison saw the Manchester City loanee lay the shot into the path of Macedonia international Alioski. His first time drive nestled in the corner, via a touch from Kyle Bartley.
Alioski, 27, lasted the entire 90 minutes from left-back, running up and down constantly to help his side in attack but to also remain defensively solid. It was a superb performance from the ex-Lugano star, who is keeping out Barry Douglas.
Former Leeds defender Parker was speaking to LUTV immediately after the clash, and claimed Alioski had told him that he was “shattered” following Tuesday night’s game – which could see him rested on Saturday as Leeds travel south to face Millwall.
“Alioski said to us off the camera that he was ‘absolutely shattered'”, Parker said. “But you’ve got to perform like that, because if you players work harder than the opposition then your quality will shine.”

TBR’s view – Leeds have got to start talks over a new Alioski contract.
Alioski has been magnificent for Leeds since joining the club for £2million (YEP) in the summer of 2017. He has already clocked up exactly 100 appearances for Leeds, and is renowned for his excellent work rate and lung-busting stamina.
But the star has just two years left to run on his contract and Leeds will want to avoid another scenario that saw them lose Kemar Roofe. Alioski deserves a new deal, and his performance and commitment to the cause are proof of that.
