Ben Parker has claimed that Patrick Bamford’s goal on Tuesday night for Leeds United was “world class” and believes it went under the radar.

Bamford scored yet another goal in Leeds’ 3-0 home win over Southampton last night in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old striker opened the scoring early in the second half with an accurate low finish into the bottom corner, before Stuart Dallas and Raphinha also got on the scoresheet.

Bamford has now scored 13 Premier League goals so far this season, as well as providing six assists.

There were plenty of doubters who questioned whether the Englishman could establish himself as a top forward in the top flight, but he’s answered those critics emphatically.

Parker was keen to mention the class of Bamford’s latest goal, which he smashed into the bottom corner after finding space in-between defenders.

“Not seen talk about Patrick Bamford’s finish. That is world class how he’s got that in just on a postage stamp. He might have even clipped the post slightly. You couldn’t put it anywhere to score a goal apart from there. Just goes to show how great the man is and how much form he’s in,” Parker told the LS11 podcast.

TBR’s View:

Bamford showed the kind of confidence he’s playing with by firing an instinctive low finish into the Southampton net.

His all-round game and energy has never been in doubt, but plenty of times in a Leeds shirt his finishing has been sporadic.

It look like he’s barely thinking now when he gets anywhere around the 18-yard box and is far more decisive.
