Leeds United captain Liam Cooper and former Whites defender Ben Parker have reacted with delight on Twitter after Marcelo Bielsa was confirmed as remaining at Leeds for a second season.
There had been doubts that the Argentine boss was not going to remain in the role, given he is now 63 years of age and that Leeds failed to gain promotion via the Championship play-offs.
Plenty of clubs had been linked, including Sporting Gijon, Celta Vigo and AS Roma, while Peru are said to have wanted to take the former Argentina and Chile boss back into national team management.
But owner Andrea Radrizzani and Bielsa have agreed that the experienced boss will remain in the job for another season, to which Cooper and Parker reacted with joy after hearing of the news.
Some news that is for us as a club.. 🙏🏻💙

This is the best signing Leeds will make all summer. Even if Leeds struggle in the summer and fail to bring in the calibre of players that comes hand in hand with promotion, Bielsa will push Leeds all the way.
That is because Bielsa makes up for Leeds not having the best squad in the division. Other teams have more spending power and cover in every single position. Leeds do not have that.
Kemar Roofe top scored with 15 goals, but Bielsa pushed the Whites to third. With a bit of spending, he can improve on that.
