At just the age of 21, he stepped up in the absence of Vladimir Coufal.
His numbers against Spurs were sublime.
Not only did the youngster win all of his 7 duels as well as completing 8 recoveries.
In possession he also connected with his only attempted cross, completed 4 long-balls and one key pass (FotMob).
This truly was a performance to remember for the youngster.
Everything he tried seemingly came off.
The 21-year-old wasn’t afraid to take on difficult passes or try the audacious against Tottenham.

In the end he came out on the winning side and will be buoyed by his side’s performamce.
This display will have given David Moyes a headache going forward, though.
Now it seems the Hammers have two fantastic options at right-back.
Coufal will no doubt return and look to get into the side soon.
However, he’ll have to fight off the impressive Johnson to earn his place back.
This certainly isn’t a bad thing for the fans.
It’s made even better for the supporters as Johnson can deputise at left-back when required too.
His versatility and solidity in the back is certainly helpful.
Especially seeing as the Hammers are battling in four competitions this season.
