Ben Godfrey reacts to Everton win on Instagram; Rhys Williams and Rio Ferdinand reply

Rio Ferdinand and Liverpool youngster Rhys Williams were amongst those to reply to Ben Godfrey after the Everton defender took to Instagram following the Toffees’ win over Chelsea.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men got back to winning ways at Goodison Park on Saturday. Gylfi Sigurdsson’s penalty settled the contest during the first-half.

Remarkably, the game also saw Everton keep their first clean sheet in the Premier League since the opening day of the season.

The back five were outstanding against the Blues. Godfrey picked up where he left off at Burnley with a fantastic display at left-back.

As shown by Whoscored.com, he won two aerial duels and made two clearances. He also made five interceptions. No player on the pitch equalled the former Norwich City man’s tally in that area.

Understandably, plenty of those connected with Everton did want to heap praise on the youngster. The likes of Mason Holgate and Fabian Delph both lauded Godfrey.
