Ben Foster has told his YouTube channel that Gabriel Jesus is outrageous, and suggested that Arsenal striker has the ability to score 35 goals a season.

Jesus has made an unbelievable start to life at Arsenal. He arrived at a time when the Gunners simply could not afford to not sign a forward.

A promising pre-season whetted the appetite of Arsenal supporters. But obviously, goals in the summer provide no guarantees over how a player will fare once the Premier League season gets underway.

However, Jesus has very much lived up to expectations. He was outstanding in the 2-0 win against Crystal Palace. And he has now opened his account for the Gunners, starring in their 4-2 victory over Leicester on Saturday.

Jesus scored twice and provided two assists. Of course, Foster knows very well how lethal the Brazilian can be.

He was beaten four times by Jesus in a game towards the end of last season. And that performance left the goalkeeper absolutely convinced that the striker has everything to reach the very top.

“He just goes about his business as well. It’s like there’s never much drama about him. Last season he scored four goals past me end of the season for Manchester City. And I’m watching thinking you’re outrageous. How are you not playing every week and scoring 35 goals a season? Because he was that good,” he told his YouTube channel.

Jesus looks determined to make the most of the opportunity to be the main man. Obviously, that was a role he could never quite assume at the Etihad Stadium.

Of course, Arsenal’s critics will reserve judgement over Jesus until he has played many more games. And they will also be reluctant to buy into the idea that Mikel Arteta’s men have taken a step forward this season.

But things appear to be falling into place for Arsenal at the start of this season. And in Jesus, they now appear to have a superstar leading the line.
