Ben Foster says £22m Tottenham player has actually got better since Harry Kane left

Harry Kane left Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

After years and years of Spurs fans dreading the day that Kane left the club, he finally departed for Bayern Munich in the summer.

While Kane’s departure was earmarked as doomsday for Spurs for a long time, Tottenham, strangely, haven’t actually missed Kane that much since he left.

Indeed, there’s a strong argument to make that Spurs are a greater attacking force now without Kane in the team, and that’s down to the impact of Heung-Min Son.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ben Foster has been full of praise for Son, and he says that he’s actually thrived in this team since Kane left.

Son has got better

Foster shared his verdict on the £22m man.

“I had two, Heung-Min Son, I think he’s been incredible and I do think he’s actually thrived in the absence of Harry Kane, I think he’s stepped it up a little bit being a captain,” Foster said.

Incredible

Son’s improvement this season has been nothing short of incredible.

For so many years, Son’s success at Spurs seemed heavily reliant on Kane’s presence in the team threading those incredible passes through for the South Korean.

However, without Kane in the team, Son has somehow become even better. He’s thrived as Tottenham’s main man, and he’s scoring for fun at the moment.

Of course, Son’s improvement is much more noticeable due to the fact he had arguably his worst season in a Spurs season last time around.

Son is well on track to score 20 league goals this season, and, who knows? Perhaps he could even bag his second Premier League Golden Boot award.

In theory, Kane’s departure from this team should’ve affected Son more than anyone else, but that hasn’t been the case so far this season – it’s been quite the opposite actually.

Son has really stepped up this term, and Spurs will certainly miss him throughout his absence during the Asian Cup.
