Ben Davies has praised Ryan Sessegnon after Tottenham draw
Ben Davies has praised Ryan Sessegnon, telling Tottenham Hotspur’s media team following their draw with Liverpool on Saturday that the entire squad is delighted to see him thriving.
Sessegnon has been one of the revelations of the season for Spurs. Heading into this campaign, there was probably a question mark hanging over whether he would ever realise his full potential.
The appointment of Antonio Conte looks set to be a turning point in his Tottenham career. When he has played, he has been superb. In fact, many Spurs fans would probably have him ahead of Sergio Reguilon in the pecking order at left wing-back.
He shone once again at the weekend as Tottenham drew with Liverpool. It was Sessegnon who set up Spurs’ goal, with a clever pass to Son Heung-min.
Plenty of pundits have praised Sessegnon following his display at Anfield. And it seems that his teammates were just as impressed. Davies insisted that the Tottenham players are loving seeing the 21-year-old do well.
“I think in the two games he’s played against Liverpool this year he’s been excellent and you can’t underestimate the quality he’s up against,” he told Tottenham’s media team.
“I’m delighted for him, he’s had it tough with recurring injuries, but all the boys are really happy for him and I think he’s thriving at the moment.”

Clearly, if Sessegnon can enjoy some luck with injury in the years ahead, Tottenham have a serious player in their ranks. It is frightening to think that he only turns 22 later this month.
He has huge potential. And he has shown that since Conte took charge late last year.
Certainly, the Tottenham fans will hope that next year proves to be a real breakout campaign for Sessegnon.
