'Some guy': Bellingham and Henderson show their love for Arsenal 24-year-old on Instagram
Aaron Ramsdale was one of the players in the England squad to get zero minutes at the World Cup, but the Arsenal man remains a popular figure.
Ramsdale went along as one of three goalkeepers selected by Gareth Southgate. Despite knowing he is second or third fiddle to Jordan Pickford, Ramsdale has been widely praised by pundits and fellow players for his attitude.
The Arsenal stopper has enjoyed a meteoric rise since moving to the club from Sheffield United. Now firmly in as Arsenal’s number one, Ramsdale’s next task is to try and dislodge Pickford for Euro 2024. A tough task that he knows could be beyond him.
Of course, this England squad is a tight knit group. And after Ramsdale posted on Instagram this afternoon, his teammates were out in force to show their love towards the Arsenal man.
Among those to reply and sing his praises were Jude Bellingham and Jordan Henderson. The midfield pair clearly love what Ramsdale brings to the party, and that was clear in their replies.
Beyond that, Arsenal heroes such as Ian Wright and Bukayo Saka also showed some love towards Ramsdale.
TBR’s View: Ramsdale will get his England chance down the line
If Ramsdale continues playing as he is for Arsenal and showing the sort of character he has done, then he will get chances for England.
Sure, Pickford is firmly in as Southgate’s number one. But with the future of the manager uncertain, there could be a chance for Ramsdale to stake a claim. Further, even if Southgate stays, if Arsenal win the league then Ramsdale will be a hard man to ignore.
These comments on Instagram show just how loved he is in the camp. And both Arsenal and England can be grateful for a top player and character in their ranks.
