Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after seeing a photo of Mikel Arteta speaking to Charlie Patino at London Colney.

What’s the story?

Well, the 17-year-old has been invited to train with the first-team, following a string of incredible displays in the Hale End Academy.

Patino can be seen stood next to Arteta as the Spaniard clearly tries to feed some tactical information to him.

The teenager has never made a first-team appearance for the Gunners.

However, Patino has already racked up eight appearances for Arsenal’s Under-23 side, which shows just how good he is.

The wonderkid should really be playing at Under-17 level, so it’s telling that he’s playing so much higher up the ranks.

Patino even captained the side against Swindon in an EFL Trophy defeat recently.

The Watford-born playmaker’s name is starting to spread around the Emirates Stadium nowadays, although you may not know much about him.

If that is the case, here are a few facts.

Firstly, Sean O’Connor – Head of Scouting at Arsenal and the man who found Jack Wilshere – said that Patino is the best player to ever enter the Hale End Academy.

TalkSPORT quote Arsenal scout Brian Stapleton as saying: “Sean O’Connor discovered Jack Wilshere and he said to me that Charlie is the best player who has ever walked through the doors at Hale End.”

Reiss Nelson has told Arsenal fans to remember the name when it comes to Patino, while he’s also been compared to Andres Iniesta.

By the sounds of it, Arsenal have a potential superstar on their hands.

Hopefully, he can follow in the footsteps of Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka.

For now, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about the photo of Arteta and Patino…
