Sheffield Wednesday fans were left fuming last night as it emerged Liam Shaw had agreed a pre-contract agreement with Celtic.

The Owls youngster has been one of few bright lights in S6 this season but was yet to be tied down to a deal. Questions over his future began to surface in January and now, as reported by Yorkshire Live, Shaw is on his way to Parkhead.

It’s a major coup for Celtic to capture one of the EFL’s brightest young talents. Shaw has established himself in the XI of late with Wednesday, although it remains to be seen if he’ll continue to be selected in the coming weeks.

The Owls are firmly in a relegation scrap and that was the issue a lot of Wednesday fans commented about on social media last night.
