'Been waiting for this moment': Some Spurs fans love what 20-year-old has tweeted
It’s not been a great season so far for Spurs fans, with their team falling to another defeat in their latest game.
Tottenham faced Vitesse away in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, and fell to a 1-0 defeat.
However, there was one positive from the match – Dilan Markanday’s senior Spurs debut.
The 20-year-old is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the Tottenham academy.
Markanday has a staggering six goals and two assists from just seven Premier League 2 appearances this term.
He also weighed in with two assists in the Papa John’s Trophy win over Stevenage in August.
Markanday’s efforts have seen him in and around the first team this season.
And on Thursday, he made his Spurs senior debut, coming off the bench to get 19 minutes at the GelreDome.
Markanday looked lively in his cameo appearance, clocking up some decent stats and looking better than quite a few teammates.
On Friday, the youngster took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the Vitesse result but also celebrating his “dream come true”.
Some Spurs fans congratulated him and tipped him for a successful career:
