'Been a revelation': Sherwood says Spurs have a 'magnificent' 22-year-old and a player who will be a 'huge' star
Former Spurs boss Sherwood said that the 22-year-old, who was one of Antonio Conte’s first signings as manager, has been a ‘revelation’.
Romero has just come back from injury and was actually a player signed during Nuno Espirito Santo’s brief and ill-fated reign, but he is the defensive lynchpin in north London now.
Sherwood hails Kulusevski and Romero
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Sherwood said: “Kulusevski, since he’s been at the club has been a revelation. Absolutely magnificent.
“Romero’s a huge player for them, he’s back to fitness now, he’s going to be huge.
“They’ve bought Richarlison in alongside Son, who’s had a slow start to the season, and Harry Kane, who’s scoring goals.
“He normally takes a little while to settle into the Premier League season but he’s scoring every single week.”
Kulusevski and Romero are a huge part of what Antonio Conte is trying to do in north London and will play a big part in any success.
The Swede has helped Spurs round off their front three, adding another elite attacking threat to the aforementioned Kane and Son.
Romero brings aggression and organisation to the back three, and the backline goes to another level when he is playing.
It will be vitally important that he stays fit over the course of the season, as Spurs look to end their lengthy trophy drought.
