Ally McCoist has claimed that Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou will be holding talks with his defender, Cristian Romero.
Romero was a lucky boy once again this weekend against Newcastle. A late tackle on Callum Wilson was overlooked by VAR when it came to a red card. At the time Gary Neville felt it was a red and he labelled Romero as being ‘mad’ with some of his decisions.
Of course, Romero has only just come back from a suspension himself. He could quite easily have picked up another red here and missed yet more games.

And speaking on TalkSPORT this morning, Ally McCoist has suggested that Postecoglou will be holding talks with Romero about keeping a lid on things.
“The other one, and he’s getting a little bit of a reputation for it, Romero, I think he’s pretty fortunate there. And it’s a shame because he can play, when him and Van de Ven start together, I think Spurs are a completely different team defensively. I really, really do. Big Ange will have to be having a chat with him surely because he’s no good to him sat in the stands suspended,” McCoist said.
Romero needs to stay on the pitch to help Tottenham
The tackle on Wilson yesterday was bordering on ridiculous and on another day, he gets a red card for that and ruins another good day for Spurs.
Romero has got to find a way to control his aggression a bit and ensure it doesn’t impact his team.
Right now, he is a walking card and it’s only going to end up costing Spurs over the course of the season.
With Micky van de Ven out injured, Romero has to assume a responsibility towards his teammates and that includes staying on the field as much as possible.
As McCoist says, you’d imagine Ange is getting stuck into the Argentinian and wants to see him calm things down just a touch.
