‘Come on’: BBC pundit slams Arsenal player for what he did in the 32nd minute against Leicester

Arsenal might have seen off Leicester City yesterday to continue their march towards the top four but there was at least one thing on display that didn’t please the BBC’s Clinton Morrison.

Morrison was commenting on the game for BBC Live and while he was impressed with Arsenal throughout the 90 minutes, he was left scratching his head at what Gabriel Magalhaes did in the 32nd minute. The Gunners defender had a minor clash with Kelechi Iheanacho and appeared to then fling himself to the ground after minimal contact.

And Morrison, commenting on the incident, was far from impressed.

“In our day and age, someone like Alan Shearer would have give Gabriel something like that every game. Come on, a big centre-half and he goes down like that. He has made a meal of that,” Morrison commented.

It was a bit of a silly moment from Gabriel, in fairness. He didn’t need to do it and he is good enough to leave those sorts of shenanigans in the changing room. Above all else, he is kept a clean-sheet.

TBR’s View: Gabriel Really Growing At Arsenal

Falling on the floor aside, the Brazilian centre-half has been excellent of late for Arsenal and is looking like another shrewd signing for the Gunners.

Given his strength and ability to defend, he doesn’t need to do this sort of thing and Morrison is rightly aggrieved at the moment. But at the end of the day, he’s helping Arsenal win games and that is all that matters.

If Gabriel can just cut this part of his game out and focus purely on the game, then he is one of the better centre-halves in the Premier League.
