Jonathan Woodgate told BBC Sport how Harry Kane is world-class after the striker nearly scored against the run of play just before half-time in Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Manchester United on Wednesday.
Spurs went into the break level against Erik ten Hag’s side at Old Trafford. But they were incredibly grateful to Hugo Lloris.

The home side were on top for much of the half. However, Lloris was able to produce a number of outstanding saves to keep them at bay.
Harry Kane is world-class
And in fact, Tottenham had opportunities to take a surprise lead into the interval. Kane was superb whenever he got onto the ball. And he tested David De Gea with a late strike from a tight angle.

De Gea was able to make a smart stop. But Woodgate was clearly incredibly impressed by the impact the Spurs talisman was making.
“Kane can produce something out of nothing, he is world class. For all the possession Man Utd have had, Tottenham know they can hurt the hosts like that,” he told BBC Sport.
Tottenham have not been at their best at all so far this season. They have needed gritty performances to earn victories on a few occasions.
But Kane has been in amazing form. In almost any other year, he would attracting all of the plaudits from all directions for his record so far.
And it must not be forgotten that the England captain has previously had a reputation for being a slow starter – in comparison with the levels he reaches later in the campaign, admittedly.
But he is helping Spurs get through while they have been producing underwhelming performances.
The hope will be that Tottenham could still achieve something quite special if Kane continues to score and those around him are able to reach another gear.
