BBC pundit says Arsenal have a ‘frighteningly good’ player in their ranks, he’s on a different level

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has been praised by BBC Sport pundit Leanne Crichton following the Gunners star’s masterclass for Scotland on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old has been superb for club and country this season, and his latest outing saw him claim three assists whilst playing as a central defender.

Tierney, usually deployed as a left-back but also capable of playing at centre-back, was named on the left side of a back three in the World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands.

However, you wouldn’t have thought that was the case, considering how often he surged forward – culminating in a hat-trick of assists en route to a 4-0 victory.

Crichton spoke of Tierney’s incredible decision-making and ability to think several steps ahead, also claiming he’d get “linked with everybody” if he was English.

“His decision-making is frighteningly good, he sees the next one or two passes ahead,” the former Scotland midfielder told BBC Sport.

“He never at any point receives the ball and then has to think what he’s doing. He can see the game in front of him.

“You just know he’s on a different level from most. The only thing he’s not got is that he’s not English, if he is English he would be linked with everybody.”

TBR View:

Tierney’s maiden season at Arsenal wasn’t exactly smooth sailing amid injury troubles, but when English football restarted last June, he’s been sensational ever since.

He may not have been the subject of much transfer speculation just yet but surely that’ll come as the transfer window edges near.

That said, is it such a bad thing if he’s not constantly on the rumour mill? Not if you’re an Arsenal fan – best for it to stay that way.
