An FA Cup tie against Norwich City at Anfield was always going to be an emotional afternoon for Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool fans.
Klopp’s surprise decision on Friday rocked all associated with the club, and signalled a new era on the horizon.

Since that announcement, the likes of Xabi Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi and Ange Postecoglou have all been linked with the post.
However, there was still an important football match for Klopp and his Liverpool players to win against Norwich at Anfield today.
And running out empathic 5-2 winners, Klopp’s side did exactly that.
As expected, the German made a couple of changes to his side following their tough schedule of late.
However, Conor Bradley has certainly not looked in need of rest in his previous few games.
The 20-year-old was installed as a right-back once again, with Trent Alexander-Arnold back on the bench.
And the youngster certainly didn’t pass up on an opportunity to impress Klopp once again.
Conor Bradley delivers for Liverpool at Anfield once again against Norwich
Pundit Pat Nevin was watching the game for the BBC and was blown away by some of Bradley’s play in the first half.
The youngster played with incredible enthusiasm and energy at full-back, and reminded Nevin of a player Bradley may well look up to.

Liverpool fans will be very pleased to have Andrew Robertson back on the bench after his recent injury.
And Nevin thought the side now had a ‘phenomenal’ player ready to follow in his footsteps.
The pundit said: “Bradley has been phenomenal. He looks like a clone of [Andrew] Robertson.
“He’s started very well and that was brilliant. Any Liverpool player of any age would be proud of that.
“The fans are singing Nunez’s name because he always needs a lift and now he is scoring goals.”
Of course, the Northern Ireland international will definitely take that praise.
And if Joe Gomez hadn’t been in such a good form at left-back himself, perhaps Bradley would have even been starting alongside Robertson today.
It bodes so well for Klopp that both Gomez and Bradley excelled once again for Liverpool at Anfield against Norwich this afternoon.
To be dominating games without Trent or Robertson shows just how far Liverpool’s squad depth has come.
And speaking of such, Liverpool are now being linked with an exciting move this summer.
