Garth Crooks has suggested that Premier League duo Liverpool and Manchester United should be trying to sign Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka this summer.
Saka, 19, has arguably been the Gunners player of the season this year at such a young age.
The five-time capped England international has been the shining light at the Emirates Stadium in what has been a miserable campaign. He’s made 43 appearances across all competitions this campaign, scoring seven goals and supplying 10 assists.
The rapid attacker has been extremely effective as a right-winger cutting infield, but he’s such a valuable asset in the squad to have due to the fact he’s also shown he can seamlessly slot in at left-back for Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Arsenal remain a giant in the English game, albeit they’ve dropped in stature in the last few years.
It looks unlikely that they’ll have any European football next season, which should make it challenging when trying to attract the top players to north London. Additionally, they need to be able to keep their key stars who are already at the club happy.
Saka, who is an Arsenal academy graduate that came through the youth ranks, is a star man that the Gunners must keep at all costs if they are to try and build something moving forward.
BBC pundit Crooks has given a glowing verdict on Saka’s ability, who he feels rivals Liverpool and Man United would be crazy not to target in the transfer window at the end of the season.
“If Manchester United or Liverpool don’t get their hand in their pockets and buy him there is something seriously wrong with them,” Crooks wrote for BBC Sport.
“Bukayo Saka has been outstanding for Arsenal all season. He was their only shining light against Villarreal on Thursday night and his performance against West Brom days later was devastating. Everybody is talking about Manchester City’s Phil Foden, this lad is just as good if not better.”

TBR’s View – Should Liverpool target Saka?
If Liverpool are to click the reset button and get themselves back in the Premier League title conversation next year, they’ll need one or two quality additions to their squad.
Arsenal’s rising teenage star Saka is an intriguing name to throw into the mix.
Despite being so young, he’s already proven he can lead on the pitch with eye-catching displays in both the Premier League and in Europe this campaign.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool need an extra forward to help the evolution of their forward line, and Saka ticks so many boxes with his pace, energy and quality on the ball.
Surely though he would cost a fortune to prize away from Arsenal.
