Michael Brown was full of praise for Declan Rice after his second assist of the afternoon as Arsenal blew West Ham away at the London Stadium on Sunday.
Declan Rice probably could not have asked for a better Premier League return to the London Stadium. Arsenal needed a big performance after watching both Manchester City and Liverpool win on Saturday. Of course, West Ham’s home was also the scene of one of the key moments in the title race last year.
But Arsenal were absolutely lethal. And it was Rice who played a vital role in their victory, providing two assists and scoring a screamer himself in the second-half.
Declan Rice perfect in Arsenal win
Both of Rice’s assists came from set-pieces. The first set up William Saliba. And the second was a smartly taken free-kick which Gabriel Magalhaes managed to score from.

And speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Michael Brown lauded the England international for the cross for the second goal.
“It’s all about the delivery. Declan Rice with a perfect in-swinger, it just needed a little touch. Ben Johnson plays three players onside. A wonderful ball and a great set-piece yet again from Arsenal,” he said.
Gunners make the most of shambolic West Ham showing
West Ham produced an embarrassing performance. Arsenal were 6-0 up before the midway point in the second-half. And from there, they were largely able to take their foot off the gas.
But Arsenal made the most of their opponents’ capitulation. The Gunners showed the quality in front of goal that they have often lacked this season. And they made a real statement which the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool will have certainly taken notice of.
Rice was potentially the star of the show on a day which included several standout performances. But that has so often been the case for the 24-year-old since his summer switch to the Emirates.
