Bayern reportedly willing to sell player who dreamt of a move to Liverpool in 2018

German newspaper Bild have claimed that Bayern Munich are willing to sell midfielder Corentin Tolisso – less than two years after the Frenchman was reportedly dreaming of a move to Liverpool.

Tolisso, 25, joined Bayern for a fee of £38million (Guardian) just over three years ago after shining at Lyon. The France star became Bayern’s most-expensive signing, and that record remained until the signing of Lucas Hernandez last summer.

He enjoyed an excellent first season at Bayern, having a hand in 17 goals during 40 appearances in his first campaign. But an ACL injury saw Tolisso managed just four outings in 2018-19, and he has struggled to retain his best this time around.

Now, Bild claim Bayern are willing to offload Tolisso – as well as Javi Martinez and Jerome Boateng. That could put Liverpool on red alert, with Calcio Insider claiming they had been told that Tolisso was dreaming of a Liverpool move in 2018.

The summer after his excellent first season at Bayern, Calcio Insider claims a source told them: “Tolisso wants a Premier League move and his dream is Liverpool. Now, Liverpool could be after a central midfielder.

TBR’s view – Should Liverpool move for Tolisso?

Adam Lallana is due to leave the club at the end of the season – whenever that is – with Brendan Rodgers looking to lure Lallana to Leicester City. Meanwhile, Gini Wijnaldum’s future is in doubt and Naby Keita has been linked with an exit.

A shake up in the middle of the park is expected, then. Tolisso could be the ideal addition to Liverpool’s side, given he is more than capable of scoring and creating goals from deep – something which Liverpool lack in the midfield.

If Tolisso is indeed available, The Reds should do all they can to hand him his dream move.
