Bayern Munich’s interest in Callum Hudson-Odoi has been well publicised. The Bavarian’s are clearly keen on the Chelsea winger as they look to bring in talented young players. Most recently, The Sun suggested a £40 million bid had been made for the player.

Another name on their shortlist appears to be that of Joao Felix. The Portuguese youngster has been in fine form for Benfica this season and Bayern have taken notice.

Sport Bild reports that Bayern are keen on the player and also report that he has a release clause in his current Benfica deal set at €120 million (£105 million).

In the summer, it was being reported that West Ham United were lining up a move for Benfica midfielder Joao Felix. Sky Sports reported that the Hammers were in talks with the Portuguese side over a move suggesting a deal was ‘believed to be close’ for the teenager.

At the time Felix was relatively unknown.  He had not yet played for the Benfica first-team and West Ham fans were probably not too disappointed the deal never came off.

The 19-year-old has gone on to score seven goals this season in 20 games and been in fine form since returning from an ankle injury.

West Ham clearly had their eyes on a top talent. But considering the current release clause and the interest of teams like Bayern their chance to sign him appears to have passed.
