Jose Mourinho is set to give Troy Parrott a chance in the Champions League in midweek, Football London reports.
Tottenham Hotspur are already through to the knockout stages of the competition so Mourinho has the freedom to experiment. Some of the younger players will get a chance, including Parrott.
The Republic of Ireland international was handed his Premier League debut on Saturday afternoon. Earlier in the year, he made his senior Spurs debut in the EFL Cup loss at Colchester United.
Now, he is ready to make his next step. But this could play into Bayern Munich’s hands.
Bayern Munich can scout Parrott
Spurs face Bayern Munich in the Champions League in a dead rubber. Both teams are already through so Parrott is in line to make his European debut.
But the German giants reportedly want the 17-year-old. According to The Daily Mail, Parrott is on Bayern’s radar ahead of a potential January move. Midweek gives the Bundesliga champions a perfect opportunity to scout him firsthand.
Mourinho is clearly trying to give youth a chance, having been criticised for failing to do so in the past. Parrott is a top talent and the way to keep him is to give him first-team opportunities. Spurs must resist any bids from their midweek opponents.
