Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac was full of respect for both Harry Kane and Mauricio Pochettino ahead of tonight’s clash with Tottenham in the Champions League.

Before Spurs’ first home match in this season’s competition, Kovac made it quite clear that he admires the job his opposite number has done and is a fan of his talismanic striker to boot.

According to the Daily Mail, Kovac said of Pochettino: “You can see what it means when you have a good coach, a good manager. Tottenham are now able to compete with the very big teams. They have continuity, [Pochettino] was given time and he has done a great job and that is an example for others.”

As per Goal, he said on Kane: “His quality in the Premier League and for England speaks for itself. He’s sensational. He’s good at holding up and good with his head. There’s nothing he cannot do. He’s a very strong striker. Him and Lewandowski are probably in the top two, three or four in the world. I will give my team some information on Kane.”

TBR’s View – Kane’s goal can fire Tottenham through sticky patch

Kane showed in the weekend win over Southampton that he will provide goals at an almost metronomic rate regardless of what is going on around him.

A good goalscorer can mask a multitude of sins and while Tottenham are still feeling their way out of their slump, Kane’s goals can keep them getting results.

Tonight, he is likely to need just two or three chances and he can put Bayern to the sword.
