Bayern Munich have now agreed a permanent deal for £4m Tottenham player

With a deal to sign Radu Dragusin very close for Tottenham Hotspur, it seems one player is now making progress to leave the club in the coming days.

The January transfer window was always going to be a busy one for Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy – there was still work unfinished from the summer.

And with deals for Dragusin and Timo Werner chased rather quickly, it seems Spurs are seeking a similar pace with those leaving the club.

Hugo Lloris has already departed from the ‘unwanted’ list, and it now seems that Eric Dier could quickly follow.

Sharing his update on X just now, journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed that significant progress has been made.

With Dragusin seemingly on his way to North London, Bayern Munich has verbally agreed a deal with Tottenham for Dier.

Plettenberg said: “News Dier: FC Bayern have directly spoken with Tottenham bosses about a permanent deal and agreed upon the parameters.

“But, an official offer for Dier has not been submitted yet!

“New Details: Transfer fee: Probably less than €4m. Contract: 2025 + 1.

“Dier, still waiting for a decision. So far, no hijack attempts for Dragusin. There has been occasional contact between a Freund and Danso’s management in recent weeks.”

Bayern Munich agree deal with Tottenham for Eric Dier after cooling Radu Dragusin interest

Of course, this could be excellent news for Spurs fans.

Not only are the club looking likely to secure their number one defensive target of the window, they are also offloading a player deemed surplus to requirements.

There’s no doubt that Dier is still a fine player, he wouldn’t be talking to Bayern otherwise, but he’s clearly of no use to Postecoglou.

And if Spurs are able to sign Dragusin they will have a strong trio of starters with Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero in mind.

Perhaps they could still benefit from the addition of another left-footed defender, but Ben Davies can do a solid job for now.

If Tottenham sort a deal for both Dragusin to arrive and Dier to leave in the coming days it will represent outstanding work.

And with that being said, Spurs are now eyeing an impressive midfield target who James Maddison is a fan of.
