Liverpool are reportedly hoping to bring in Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara this summer.
SportBild reported last month that Thiago will not sign a new deal in Bavaria. With his contract expiring in a year, Bayern are therefore ready to sell him on, with Liverpool reportedly keen.
Jurgen Klopp is known to be a fan of the Spanish playmaker. After facing Bayern with Liverpool in the Champions League last season, Klopp called Thiago ‘world-class’, as reported by talkSPORT.
Spanish publication SPORT then claimed that Liverpool had reached an agreement with the player over a move to Anfield and were working to come to a solution with Bayern for the player, with the Bundesliga kings wanting £31.5 million for the 29-year-old.

If Liverpool do end up getting Thiago this summer then the midfield maestro will be leaving Bayern on a winning streak.
After securing the Bundesliga title last month, the German giants secured the DFB Pokal trophy yesterday with a 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen.
Thiago came off the bench with three minutes left of that game, replacing Thomas Muller, and posted a picture celebrating the win afterwards on Twitter.
It is clear that he is still revered by the Bayern support based on the response to the post, which will no doubt give Liverpool fans extra reason to want a deal done that brings him to Anfield this summer.
