Bayern Munich devise plan to prevent Michael Olise from joining Liverpool anytime soon

TBR Football understands Bayern Munich are hoping to tie Michael Olise down to a new contract before the end of the season.

The Bundesliga giants are in love with the player and are prepared to offer Olise a “huge pay rise” to fend off Premier League interest.

Liverpool are long-term admirers of Olise, whereas Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona are also huge fans of Olise. However, as things stand, none are planning to test the waters next summer.

Arsenal considered signing Olise in 2024, prior to the player’s £50 million departure from Crystal Palace for Bayern, and will also enter the race for the Frenchman’s signature should he become available.

Sources informed TBR Football that reports stating Olise is already earning in excess of £200,000 a week are not accurate, but Bayern wish to offer him more than the reported figure in a new contract.

Sources: Liverpool could move to sign Michael Olise in 2026

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has exclusively relayed information provided by sources stating whether Liverpool feel it is possible to sign Olise and/or Morgan Rogers.

“So – firstly, Rogers and Olise won’t be leaving in January, but Liverpool are very much aware of both players – they like them both, but then again, there isn’t a major club in Europe who doesn’t.

“In terms of Olise – along with the likes of Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola, there are few more highly rated young wingers in the world.

“Olise looks a different class at the moment, he really has taken a huge leap since moving to Bayern Munich. It would take some huge money to get him – I don’t see him being available next summer, but never say never, when you are a club who can attract (Alexander) Isak and (Florian) Wirtz in one window – nobody is beyond your reach.”

TBR Football exclusively reported that Liverpool were considering a move for Bradley Barcola as the deal to sign Isak had stalled after the initial £110m offer, with Newcastle having made no progress on signing a replacement at the time of reporting.

Furthermore, Liverpool want to prioritise the development of the “hugely talented” Rio Ngumoha, with Arne Slot seeing no need to spend big money on another wide forward that would ultimately block the youngster’s path to the first team.

However, the club are reportedly devising a contingency plan for when Mohamed Salah departs Anfield, and reports have suggested that Olise is at the top of the shortlist to replace the Egyptian.

Of course, the Reds signed Isak on deadline day for a British transfer record £125m fee, breaking the record for the second time in the same summer following Wirtz’s arrival from Bayer Leverkusen for £116m.

Morgan Rogers is another Liverpool target

Rogers is another homegrown prospect who has been linked to a move to Anfield – TBR Football reported in May that Liverpool were considering a move for Rogers.

However, Bailey has also received information regarding that potential deal and has revealed that the strong interest from Chelsea would certainly make it difficult to conclude a deal.

Bailey states: “On Morgan Rogers – there is so much interest in him, he is in huge demand, but Chelsea love him and Joe Shields, the guy who discovered him at Manchester City, is one of the main men at Stamford Bridge now, and it will be hard to beat him to the signature.”
