Back in 2016, Corentin Tolisso claimed himself that he wanted to join Arsene Wenger at Arsenal but just 12 months later he was on his way to Bayern Munich. Now, the French midfielder is reportedly available.
A young Tolisso was developing a burgeoning reputation as one of Europe’s best young midfielders in 2016, as he starred despite his tender age for Lyon. During his time with the French side, Tolisso had a hand in 46 goals in 160 outings.
Tolisso, 25, joined Bayern for a fee of £38million (Guardian) in the summer of 2017, and he has since had a turbulent time at Bayern. Indeed, scoring 10 and creating seven in his first season, was followed by an ACL injury in 2018-19.
Now, German newspaper Bild have claimed that France international Tolisso will be allowed to leave the German champions – along with Javi Martinez and Jerome Boateng. It comes four years after he labelled Arsenal as one of his “dream” clubs.
“Many clubs make me dream like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and England with teams like Arsenal,” Tolisso said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “I like the Premier League and I think I am well suited to it.”

TBR’s view – Should Arsenal consider Tolisso move?
Without a doubt. Although Tolisso is yet to mirror the form that saw him shine in his first Bayern season, since his ACL injury, Tolisso is a top, top midfielder and has enormous talent. The Gunners need a midfielder.
Dani Ceballos is only on loan, while Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka have been linked with moves. Matteio Guendouzi has been poor this season, and bringing in another midfielder – especially one that can score goals – would boost Mikel Arteta.
Bought by Bayern for £38million, Tolisso is likely to go for a much smaller fee and Arsenal have got to land him.
