Honorary Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer would love to see Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp join his club, according to German outlet Bild.
Klopp led Liverpool to their sixth Champions League on Saturday night with a 2-0 win over Tottenham, shaking off his tag as a nearly man and firmly establishing him among the world’s elite.
Beckenbauer apparently said: “I want nothing more than to see Klopp come to Bayern one day, it would be a good fit. Jurgen brought a new type of football to Germany. What he began in Dortmund, he has refined in Liverpool.”
Liverpool of course took Bayern apart on their own patch back in March, securing a 3-1 victory at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League last 16.

It’s a mark of the progress that Klopp has overseen at Liverpool that Bayern Munich would be so desperate to land him now.
The German powerhouse is in a state of flux, with their straightforward domestic dominance having clouded the need to rejuvenate the squad until this season – and now it’s an enormous club.
Klopp won’t go – not least because of his connections with Borussia Dortmund – and that Munich stroll in March shows that he has put together a team on another level to Bayern.
Manchester City and Liverpool look supremely well placed to go on and challenge for European honours year in, year out now – with European giants such as Bayern in transition.
