Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made Xabi Alonso their top manager target, and Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong is now hoping this move doesn’t happen.
Spurs have been linked with about 15 managers over the last two months. After Antonio Conte’s departure, Daniel Levy has to get his next appointment right, which is probably why he is taking his time.
Alonso, who has done a phenomenal job at Leverkusen, is reportedly an option for Tottenham.

Jeremie Frimpong hoping Xabi Alonso stays at Bayer Leverkusen amid Tottenham links
Dutch outlet De Telegraaf claimed about a week ago that Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso is the favourite to become the new Tottenham Hotspur boss this summer.
The Real Madrid legend was an outstanding player back in the day, and it looks like he will have a fantastic career as a manager as well.
He has done an incredible job at Leverkusen so far, and it’s only a matter of time before a top club snaps him up.
Jeremie Frimpong, however, is hoping that his manager snubs all the offers and stays at Leverkusen for the foreseeable future.
When asked about rumours linking Alonso with jobs like Tottenham, he told CBS Sport: “They’ve helped big time, not just me but you can tell from our results and the way we play that they’ve done the same for the whole team.
“The coach has made a big difference and the staff, we’re just really grateful to have them and hopefully he can keep us going.”

TBR View:
It’s definitely not easy to find the perfect manager, but Tottenham aren’t in a position where they can get it completely wrong again.
Big names like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte did not work at Spurs, while a defensive coach like Nuno Espirito Santo couldn’t do much either.
Mauricio Pochettino was the last man who came close to winning anything at Tottenham, which means bringing in a young, attack-minded coach makes the most sense.
Xabi Alonso checks those boxes, and he would be a very exciting appointment if Spurs can get him this summer.
