German newspaper Bild have quoted Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz as saying that Aston Villa-linked midfielder Marvelous Nakamba will shine in the Premier League.
Belgian outlet HLN have claimed that Villa are interested in 25-year-old midfielder Nakamba who has impressed at Club Brugge for the past two seasons, since joining the club from Vitesse in the summer of 2017.
It is believed Villa want to sign the 12-time Zimbabwe international this summer, after Glenn Whelan and Mile Jedinak left the club on a free transfer. Former Dortmund and Ajax boss Bosz believes he would thrive in England.
Bosz managed Nakamba at Vitesse, and the current Bayer Leverkusen manager believes Nakamba has what it takes to thrive on the biggest stage with Aston Villa interested in nabbing his signature.
“Nakamba is a boy who brings a lot of energy into the game. He is strong and a winner,” Bosz said. “With his honest and aggressive style of play, he would fit well in England.”
TBR’s view – Nakamba is a Villa bargain at £6m
Bosz’s verdict is a boost for Villa, as Dean Smith’s side look to bring in a holding midfielder that can replace the loss of duo Whelan and Jedinak.
For just £6million and the backing of a manager who has taken Ajax to the Europa League final and managed Dortmund in the Champions League, Nakamba is an excellent buy.
