Barry Douglas hailed reported Leeds United target Adama Traore as ‘unplayable’

Leeds United are reportedly keeping tabs on a potential move for Wolves star Adama Traore.

90min is reporting that the West Yorkshire side could be due a £50 million cash injection from the San Francisco 49ers this winter and a move for the Spanish flyer could be on the cards.

Wolves would want around £40 million for Traore, who has struggled to cement a regular starting spot at Molineux this season.

It is a deal that would certainly have one Leeds United fan favourite excited.

Barry Douglas is currently out on loan at Blackburn Rovers but the Scottish defender left Leeds on good terms in the summer and is popular among the Elland Road faithful.

Douglas played with Traore at Wolves and has previously made his admiration of the wideman clear.

“Since I have been in England, probably Adama Traore (is the toughest player I have faced),” Douglas told LUTV earlier this year. “Just the way that he moves he is unplayable at times. It’s impossible to stop him when he’s on his game. If you try and kick him, he’s too strong and you end up hurting yourself. He’s so quick. He was definitely difficult.”

Leeds currently have Raphinha and Jack Harrison thriving out wide but another former Wolves player, Helder Costa, has struggled for consistency this season and Gjanni Alioski has quickly become a left-back option more than in attack.

Leeds would undoubtedly relish the chance to bring in a player deemed ‘unplayable’ by one of their loaned out stars.

But for now, Leeds fans will likely take this report with a pinch of salt.
