Barry Douglas has suggested on Instagram that Leeds United’s supporters top anything that the Championship has to offer after the Whites’ 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on Wednesday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are five points clear of the chasing pack in the promotion race thanks to Mateusz Klich’s first-half goal.
It was a tough night for the visitors. Leeds were arguably some way short of being at their fluent best, and they opened the door for Boro on a handful of occasions.
But there is little chance that you would have known that from the atmosphere in the away end at the Riverside Stadium.
The Leeds fans frequently drowned out any noise coming from the home fans inside the ground. And it is no surprise that the players felt compelled to go over and celebrate with the supporters after the full-time whistle.
And Douglas has made a point on social media that many of the Leeds squad would surely agree with.
The left-back – who was an unused substitute in the victory, and also praised Klich for the decisive goal – suggested that the fans are the very best around after the win.
The defender posted an image of the packed away end at the Riverside, which seemed to be in stark contrast with the areas of the ground allocated for the home fans.
