‘Bargain of the century’ – Aston Villa fans discuss John McGinn’s display

Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn produced yet another outstanding display yesterday to inspire his side to victory.

In a tough away game against high-flying Derby County, McGinn was at the centre of everything good for Aston Villa.

His performance helped Dean Smith’s men pick up three points and move to within three points of the play-offs during the international break.

The scores were level at 0-0 as the game approached its closing stages but McGinn changed all of that.

Substitute Yannick Bolasie produced a wonderful piece of skill to beat his marker and his excellent cross was headed in by McGinn from close range.

And then the Scotland international picked up an assist four minutes later, setting up Tammy Abraham.

Then, with 84 minutes on the clock, McGinn won a free-kick, which Conor Hourihane expertly dispatched.

Aston Villa won the race for McGinn this summer, beating Celtic to his signature.

The Villans picked the 24-year-old up from Hibernian for a cut-price fee of just £2.75m, according to The Times.

If this price is accurate, then McGinn was a snip in today’s market. Here is what Aston Villa fans made of his latest display.
