Celtic have been linked with two England-based midfielders in recent weeks. Both Joe Aribo and Luca Connell have been tipped for potential moves to Celtic.

According to Goal, Charlton Athletic midfielder Aribo is a target for both Celtic and Rangers. The Addicks midfielder would be a free transfer unless he agrees on a new contract.

Meanwhile, Connell is another target. According to The Daily Record, Celtic want to beat a host of English clubs to the Bolton Wanderers starlet. He would only cost a small compensation fee.

Both players operate in central midfield and are left-footed. And they are both tipped for exciting futures. At Celtic, they could form a central midfield partnership for years to come.

Aribo is a strong dribbler with an eye for goal. The 24-year-old scored 10 and assisted five last season to help Charlton to promotion. These figures took his overall tally to 16 goals and 15 assists in just less than 100 games for Charlton.

Connell is a versatile option. As well as playing deep or further advanced in central midfield, the Republic of Ireland starlet has also operated at left-back.

The 18-year-old already has 12 senior appearances under his belt and looks comfortable at first-team level. But Bolton’s financial plight could see them lose him on the cheap.

If Celtic win the race for Aribo and Connell, this could lead to an exciting future. Both players will be cheap and if they fulfil their potential, then the Bhoys have an ideal long-term central midfield pairing.
