Barcelona’s Richarlison interest could help Everton land Andre Gomes permanently

Everton talisman Richarlison is a transfer target for Barcelona as they look to put in place a succession plan for life without Luis Suarez, according to the Daily Star.

The Brazilian’s impressive start to life at Goodison Park has apparently attracted the attention of the Catalan giants, who are also interested in Tottenham superstar Harry Kane.

Richarlison arrived on Merseyside for a reported £40m in the summer and while eyebrows were raised by that fee at the time, Marco Silva could expect to see a healthy profit on that figure if Barca do get their man.

Now the former Watford man has clearly become integral to Everton’s attacking play and losing him would be a major blow to their hopes of gatecrashing the top six, especially if he leaves in January.

The only potential upside is that Everton are looking to sign Andre Gomes on a permanent basis after his loan spell’s fantastic start, and Silva should look to engineer a deal there.

Either a part swap deal, or a continuation of the amenable working relationship that saw Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne join Gomes in swapping Catalonia for Merseyside this summer, could work for both parties.

Barca may be about to call in their favour for moving three players to Everton during the summer and only getting Gomes permanently in return could soften the blow.
