Leeds United have reportedly held talks with the agent of Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig over a potential January loan move, with the player being offered to Marcelo Bielsa’s side – and Barca supporters have responded on Twitter.

Puig, 21, has managed just three minutes of first-team football since Ronald Koeman took over at the Nou Camp – and the Dutch boss has even spoke publicly over his desire for Puig to go on loan and gain regular first-team football.

Now, Puig could be on his way to Elland Road. 90Min claim Leeds have been offered the chance to sign Puig on loan in January, and that Leeds have held talks with the player’s agent over a potential move for the central midfielder.

The Whites tried to sign a midfielder to go alongside Mateusz Klich in the summer – but moves for Rodrigo De Paul and Michael Cuisance failed to come to a head. Instead, Rodrigo has dropped deeper, with Patrick Bamford retaining his place.

Puig could be brought in to offer competition in that area, even though Pablo Hernandez and Tyler Roberts continue to be made to wait for game time. Jamie Shackleton is also an option, while Adam Forshaw remains a long-term absentee.

Barcelona supporters reacted to the reported news that Leeds could sign Puig – and many would rather him remain at Barcelona and add to his 16 senior outings.
