Barcelona set 30m Euro asking price for Tottenham and Arsenal linked Samuel Umtiti

Barcelona and France defender, Samuel Umtiti, has been valued by Barcelona at around €30m, according to a report from Spanish publication, Sport.

The 26-year-old, who won the World Cup with France back in 2018, had been a regular for Barcelona but has seen appearances this season become more sporadic.

A giant at the back, Umtiti is one of the most in-demand defenders on the continent. Indeed, both Tottenham and Arsenal have been credited with interest the Frenchman.

It was reported by Sky Sports previously that Barca were willing to potentially offer Umtiti to Spurs in a swap for Tanguy Ndombele.

And with it looking increasingly likely that Umtiti will be on his way out of the Camp Nou this summer, the latest word from Sport is that Barca will accept a fee in the region of €30m.

Umtiti could be used as a bargaining chip as the Spanish giants look to land Lautaro Martinez. At 30m, the defender would eat into a chunk of the huge fee Inter will demand for their star striker.

Spurs and Arsenal, meanwhile, will have a decision to make if they wish to follow up their previous interest.

The signing of Samuel Umtiti makes sense for both Spurs and Arsenal.

The Gunners are crying out for a dominant central defender. Spurs, meanwhile, could be in the market for a replacement for the departing Jan Vertonghen.

Of course, Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of the Frenchman. While at Manchester United, the Portuguese boss was willing to sanction a reported £53m move for Umtiti.

At a fraction of that price, the Spurs boss might well be tempted to reignite his interest.
