Barcelona promoting youngster could push reported Tottenham target to London

Barcelona youngster Moussa Wague will be promoted to thefirst-team next season – which could be something of interest to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Senegalese defender made a few appearances in the second half of 2018/19 and caught the eye, and has impressed with the Barca B side.

Sport report that the right-back has convinced Ernesto Valverde of his quality and that he will mix it with Lionel Messi and co next term.

Wague joined the club last summer after impressing at the World Cup with his country.

He is a promising young player, who could well go on to make himself a regular with the first-team.

Spurs have recently been linked with a move for Nelson Semedo, and the door could be about to open for him to depart the Nou Camp.

TBR’s view

Semedo impressed in 2018/19 for Barca but was often in competition for the right-back position with natural midfielder Sergi Roberto.

The Spaniard got the nod over Semedo for the bigger fixtures, and the Portugal international could be sold.

The Mirror reported on Spurs’ interest last week, and the player is supposedly available for around £30 million.

Wague’s promotion to the first-team next term is certainly a factor that could help push Semedo to north London this summer.
