Liverpool have yet to make a signing this summer and it looks like yet another potential target is about to slip the net.
The Reds have failed to back Arne Slot in the market so far this summer and with just days to go until the window slams shut, the pressure is on.
Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili, but the goalkeeper will not be arriving until 2025 anyway.
A deal for Martin Zubimendi also broke down and it’s left Liverpool fans looking on with worry.
And now, it looks like another potential defensive target could also be on his way to another club.
Barcelona open talks to sign Liverpool-linked defender Jonathan Tah
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Spanish giants Barcelona are now in discussions about signing Tah.

As we know, both Manchester United and Liverpool have shown an interest in Tah this summer, who was expected to join Bayern Munich before Vincent Kompany took over.
But taking to X to update the situation on Tah, Plettenberg has said that it’s Barcelona who have now opened talks to land the German.
Tah could help Liverpool in a key area
While two clean sheets in a row suggest there’s no problem at the back for Liverpool, the Reds do need to look at getting someone in.
There is speculation over Virgil van Dijk’s future and with Van Dijk himself not exactly filling Liverpool fans with confidence yesterday with his contract update, a new centre-half is needed.
The ‘dominant‘ Tah is an excellent fit and there’s good reason why Bayern have been so keen on him.
Not too many players are regulars in defence for Germany and attract such attention.
Liverpool, then, would be wise to at least get in on the action here now that Barcelona are.
