Giovani Lo Celso has reinvented himself at Tottenham over the past few months.
The Argentine has worked his way back into Ange Postecoglou’s plans, and before his recent injury, he had a good run in the team.
For the first time in a long time, it genuinely does feel as though Lo Celso could have a long-term future at Spurs.
That idea is further backed up by what is now being reported by The Independent.
Indeed, according to The Independent, Lo Celso is a wanted man, but Spurs have knocked back a loan bid for the South American.

This wasn’t just any loan bid either, this was from Barcelona.
As we all know, Barcelona are genuinely one of the biggest clubs in the world, but Spurs have chosen to knock La Blaugrana back in their approach for the ‘magnificent’ midfielder as they felt this was a lowball offer in terms of wage coverage.
To be honest, we can see why Spurs have knocked this offer back.
Indeed, if Barcelona weren’t offering the right terms for a player who does genuinely still have a role to play at Tottenham, it’s not hard to understand why Spurs wanted to throw the brakes on this deal.
Lo Celso may not be a key player, but he is a useful depth option, and he’s apparently very happy with that role.
Indeed, The Independent also note in this report that Lo Celso is very happy with life at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou right now, while the manager has apparently been very clear with the player about how much he is indeed going to play.
Barcelona are struggling for numbers in the midfield right now, and unfortunately, they’re also struggling for cash, and that means that this move for Lo Celso is unable to go ahead.
What Barcelona do before the end of the month remains to be seen, but they do need more midfield cover, that’s for sure.
