Report: Club believe they've already got 'brilliant' Leeds player in the bag regardless of relegation or not
Barcelona are of the firm belief that they will sign Leeds United winger Raphinha this summer, regardless of if Leeds stay in the Premier League or not.
Raphinha’s future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks. Despite interest from England last year, it is now the mention of Barcelona that has got the most legs behind it. Leeds are also said to have rejected a £40m bid from Chelsea for the Brazilian in January.
But now, according to iNews, Barcelona think they will be signing Raphinha ahead of the chasing pack. Inews‘ report claims that the Spanish giants ‘believe’ they’ll get a deal over the line for the Leeds ace. And that means that they’re confident even if Jesse Marsch guides the Whites to safety.
Raphinha has once again been the star of the show for Leeds this season. His goals, assists, and overall performances have kept the club’s heads above water in the midst of a horrible injury ravaged campaign. Indeed, Jamie O’Hara labelled Raphinha ‘brilliant’ and even called for his former club, Spurs, to sign him.
Leeds are expected to double their money and more on Raphinha. The Whites only paid £17m for the South American.
TBR’s View: Barcelona Often Talk The Talk So Leeds Can Still Have Some Hope
Barcelona have turned into the mouthpiece of football in recent months. Their board and president seem to think they’re now back in the big time in terms of transfers, and a number of players are on their radar.
They signed Ferran Torres and Adama Traore in January though to be fair, and are said to have tied up a deal for Franck Kessie from AC Milan.
However, Leeds could still keep Raphinha. If a few good players arrive in the summer and he keeps enjoying his time under Marsch, then he could just opt to stay in West Yorkshire.
