A number of Manchester City fans have once again called for Cole Palmer to be called up to Pep Guardiola’s first team in wake of his heroics this season and his display last night.

Enzo Maresca’s Under-23s won the Premier League 2 title last week, closest rivals Blackburn Rovers conceding late against Liverpool to mathematically rule them out of the race.

After the title was theirs, City went on to win 1-0 away at West Ham and, on Friday night, ran out 4-1 winners over Tottenham Hotspur at the Academy Stadium.

Palmer once again shone for his side, combining well with James McAtee and Ben Knight to boss the midfield and play some lovely football.

The 18-year-old forced the Spurs stopper into a great save and also contributed to Liam Delap’s goal just after the hour, the third of the game.

And plenty of City fans were impressed with Palmer, sharing their thoughts on social media:

City’s U23s have just one more game this season, next week’s trip to Spurs.
