Arsenal crashed out of the Europa League this evening as a 0-0 draw with Villarreal ensured they wouldn’t get to meet Manchester United in the final.

It was a frustrating night for the Gunners on the whole, as former boss Unai Emery managed to guide his Villarreal side to the final.

Mikel Arteta was forced to start Kieran Tierney from the off after Granit Xhaka pulled up in the warm-up. Thomas Partey started in the middle, while  Aubameyang started as a central striker, flanked by Odegaard and Pepe.

However, despite hitting double figures in terms of attempts on goal it proved a night of frustration all around the Arsenal fans.

But one player who stood out for the Gunners was young midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe. The talented midfield star put in another fine performance and will be disappointed not to have won the game late on for Mikel Arteta’s men.

And despite the overall loss over two legs, Twitter was full of comments from Arsenal fans praising Smith Rowe tonight. Here’s a look at what was said by some Gunners supporters.
