Jurgen Klopp has drafted Liam Millar into the Liverpool squad to face Bradford City, the club’s official website has confirmed. Paul Glatzel has picked up an injury and Millar has replaced him in the squad.
Liverpool face Bradford today in a pre-season friendly at 15:00. Several youngsters will be given a go as Klopp continues to run the rule over his squad in pre-season.
Millar is the latest teenager to be called up. He follows Glatzel, Bobby Duncan and Rhian Brewster in young forwards playing in the first-team at the moment.
The 19-year-old spent a period on loan at Kilmarnock last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in 14 games. Millar’s record for Liverpool’s youth team has convinced Klopp to give him a chance.
He has scored three times and provided four assists for the U23 team but has shone for the U18 team with 17 goals and eight assists in 37 games. Now he has the chance to show what he can do against League Two opposition.
The six-cap Canada international will be hoping to impress Klopp with spaces available in the Liverpool first-team. Here are some fans reacting to news that Millar is in the first-team squad for today’s game.
