'Reminds me of Ronaldinho': 'Frightening' Tottenham ace has left Gareth Bale surprised during Spurs training sessions
Gareth Bale has claimed Tanguy Ndombele is the most surprising player during Tottenham Hotspur training sessions.
Speaking during a fans’ Q&A with Sky Sports, the Wales international waxed lyrical about the Frenchman, comparing him to Ronaldinho.
Ndombele has endured a tough couple of seasons in north London following his £54m transfer from Lyon.
He rarely featured towards the back-end of last campaign, starting none of the last five Premier League games.
As a result, the 24-year-old was left out of the France squad for Euro 2020, whilst Hugo Lloris was included.
However, his struggles hasn’t put Bale off lauding him as the Welshman voiced his shock over the midfielder.
When talking about the ace, Bale said: “I have to say Ndombele. Seeing what he does in training and on the pitch, I was very surprised. The amount of ability he has is actually frightening. The stuff he does with the ball reminds me of Ronaldinho.”

The claims from Bale over Ndombele during Tottenham training sessions do come as a bit of a surprise.
If the player is showing that ability in training, it begs a question over his form in games.
Ndombele has been far from the player Spurs thought he’d be following his move from Ligue 1.
With Lyon, the midfielder was a tough-tackling, ball-carrying figure for the Kids.
However, the same can’t be said for him during his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
A lack of consistent performances has seen the player struggle, even getting dropped for large parts of the season.
His Spurs career hit a real low point back in 2020 when he was hauled off at half-time in the clash with Burnley.
He was consequently criticised by Jose Mourinho, who was unrelenting in his attack.
Ndombele can probably be classed as a flop so far for Tottenham. His lack of consistency has really hampered his Spurs career and next season is huge for the ace.
